My sons’ Pony football team is in the playoffs this year. The D1 team went undefeated this season, and has made it through two playoff games. The boys will be playing in the conference Superbowl next weekend.
I made brownies last week for the boys after their game. And luckily, no one on the team has a food allergy (although I had Smarties, Starbursts and Jolly Ranchers, just in case!). The brownies were topped with yellow gold frosting and blue sprinkles, which are the teams colors.
This week, I made a chocolate chip batter, but instead of adding chocolate chips, I added M&Ms in blue and gold. This is the recipe for the batter, called The Best, Big, Fat Chewy Chocolate Chip cookies.
Here are the completed cookies:
I made three batches of the cookies. I divided the entire finished batches, bagging two cookies each in a small Ziplock bag, and added a label (created using Avery labels). This way, dirty “paws” wouldn’t be grabbing at cookies in the container and everyone would get an equal share, coaches included. The extra cookies I gave out to siblings and parents.
Good luck in the Superbowl next week boys — Go Lions!
