Baking Date: September 11, 2011
In 2011, the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of 9-11-01 was on a Sunday. It was an NFL game day. I made very special treats for our viewing party.
First was chocolate cupcakes with red, white and blue vanilla frosting stripes and the Steelers logo in the white stripe.
I also made rolled out sugar cookies, decorated in the red, white and blue patriotic theme. I used the left over icing from the cupcakes. Colored sugar sprinkles and white sugar pearls were added on top of the frosting. There were also a couple of purple/pink cookies for Sami, our friends’ daughter who is my BEST goodie customer.
